As a winemaker, it’s all about trying to make that elusive “perfect” wine; this is the closest I’ve ever come. Montrachet-like in its richness, our 2021 SBX Reserve is a truly complete wine, stunning in its depth, complexity and structure. A  sumptuous core of golden delicious apples, honeydew melon, mango and pineapple floods the palate with enticing hints of  hazelnut and almond butter adding delicious nuance to the wine’s incredibly long and expressive finish.  

The vineyard is among the most exciting I’ve worked with and our inaugural 2021 Jasper Freestone Pinot Noir is my most personal interpretation of the site. The wine’s depth and complexity is immediately apparent by its captivating aromatics that unfurl in waves of Bing cherry, boysenberry, raspberry, and pomegranate nuanced by hints of floral, clove, and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is supple and generous with a weightiness that belies the vineyard’s youth, offering a core of lush fruit, buoyed by bright acidity that persists through the very long, spice-tinged finish.

Boasting the vineyard’s famed “cherry pie in a glass” signature, our 2021 Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir lives up to expectations.  It opens with cherry, sweet vanilla and toast notes that gain hints of baking spice with air.  On the palate berry compote and brioche are cradled by soft tannins.
